Ticket FAQs
At Palais Theatre, we have four seating sections for you to choose from:
Ground Level: Orchestra & Stalls
Level 1: Lounge & Dress Circle
For detailed seating maps of the Orchestra, Stalls, Lounge, and Dress Circle, head over to the Ticketmaster website.
Please see map for an overview of accessible seating here.
Orchestra
The Orchestra section is located on the Ground Level, in the front half of the auditorium.
Rows: Front row is A, back row is Q
This area isn’t below the stage like a traditional orchestra pit — instead, it’s our premium seating area, offering exceptional views, located just behind the original orchestra pit.
Every seat in the Orchestra section is considered a great view of the stage.
Stalls
The Stalls are also on the Ground Level, directly behind the Orchestra section.
Rows: Front row is A, back row is W
The prime spots are generally considered to be rows A–J, but honestly, the whole downstairs area offers excellent views.
The floor is gently raked (on an incline) toward the stage, and the stage is also slightly angled toward the audience — this means even seats that appear further back on the map still feel closer to the action in person.
LOUNGE
The front section of Level 1 is the Lounge.
Rows: The front row is A, and the back row is M.
This area offers traditional seating, but the seats here are a bit wider than in the Orchestra, Stalls, and Dress Circle sections. Any seat in the Lounge is a great choice at the venue!
The best spots are in rows A-D, though please note that for safety reasons, there is strictly no standing in rows A-D. As the balcony is quite low, standing here could be a safety risk, and we want to ensure everyone enjoys the show without any accidents.
Many regular patrons choose the Lounge for its comfortable, uninterrupted view of the performance.
DRESS CIRCLE
At the back of Level 1 is the Dress Circle, right behind the Lounge.
Prime seats: Rows N-P.
The view and acoustics from the Dress Circle are fantastic, just like other areas of the venue. However, you'll feel a bit more distance from the stage in this section.
Head HERE on Ticketmaster to see all upcoming shows! From there, you can proceed to checkout and complete your purchase.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Ticketmaster is the only authorised seller of tickets to Palais Theatre events. We strongly recommend that you only purchase tickets via Ticketmaster to ensure you receive a legitimate ticket and can therefore enter the Venue. See below, 'Unauthorised Ticket Sellers' for additional Information.
For most events, you can easily choose your seats using the Interactive Seating Map. Just click on the blue map and select your preferred area and seat.
During busy on sales, the system might automatically switch off the map and assign seats as Best Available instead.
If you’d prefer, you can choose the Best Available option yourself. The system will then allocate the next available seats for you. Don’t worry, these will be the closest seats to the stage, as recommended by the venue.
Mobile ticketing is now the easiest way to access your tickets for Palais Theatre events.
With Mobile tickets, you can access your tickets directly from your Ticketmaster Account on your device. It’s simple, secure, and means you don’t need to carry physical tickets—your tickets are always ready on your phone when you arrive.
We recommend checking your tickets ahead of time. You can view them through the Ticketmaster App or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.au on your mobile browser.
For certain events, you’ll also have the option to forward your tickets to friends or family. If available, you can click the Forward button on your order in the Ticketmaster App or website. The person receiving the ticket will need a Ticketmaster account to accept it.
Please note: Print-at-Home tickets will no longer be available as we move to Mobile ticketing.
If you experience any issues with your Mobile ticket, just head to the Box Office at the front of the venue. Our team will be happy to assist you.
Ticketmaster charges a handling fee per transaction, not per ticket, whether you purchase by phone, online, through the mobile app, or by mail.
While we strive to provide accurate information on our website, the Palais Theatre is not responsible for any changes to fees or charges made by the ticketing provider.
Yes, you can collect your tickets at a Ticketmaster outlet listed on this page, prior to the scheduled event date.
The person whose name is on the credit card is the only person who can collect a prepaid ticket. The credit card used to purchase the ticket(s) and photo I.D. must be presented at time of pick up.
Our Box Office is open on event nights, starting 30 minutes before the doors open (as listed on the event page).
If you need to collect your tickets on a non-event day, you can visit any Ticketmaster outlet.
Please note, only the person whose name appears on the credit card can collect prepaid tickets. You'll need to bring the credit card used for the purchase and a photo ID when picking up your tickets.
Palais Theatre advises caution when purchasing tickets through unauthorised sellers or third parties such as Viagogo, StubHub, Ebay or Gumtree online auctions.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Ticketmaster is the only authorised seller of tickets to Palais Theatre events. We strongly recommend that you only purchase tickets via Ticketmaster to ensure you receive a legitimate ticket and can therefore enter the Venue.
Some unscrupulous sellers may also sell the same tickets multiple times meaning you will not be able to enter the Venue for your event. Ticketmaster or the Palais Theatre are not able to verify if your tickets are legitimate as they have not been purchased on our system.
Verified Fan is a Ticketmaster program designed to get tickets into the hands of real fans and keep them out of the hands of bots and resellers.
If an artist is using the Verified Fan system, fans need to mark that artist as a favourite or show interest in their Ticketmaster account ahead of the onsale.
Ticketmaster checks to make sure you're not a bot or reseller and verifies if you’re eligible.
Once you’ve selected your artist or event in your Ticketmaster account, you'll be added to a list and notified when the event is coming up. You’ll then receive an email with the option to register as a Verified Fan.
To get a Unique Code for purchasing tickets, you must register for Verified Fan for each event you want to attend. This is separate from your Ticketmaster Account.
You’ll receive your code about 4 hours before the presale to help keep it out of the wrong hands.
Please note, registering doesn’t guarantee you'll receive a code or be able to buy tickets. Presale tickets are first-come, first-served.
If you miss out on presale tickets, don’t worry—there will still be limited tickets available in the general onsale, and you won’t need a code for this.
For more details, visit Ticketmaster.
Before purchasing tickets, please take a moment to carefully review your event and seat selection. Policies set by our clients generally prevent Ticketmaster from offering exchanges or refunds once a ticket has been purchased. Ticketmaster Purchase Policy.
If a patron is refused entry or removed from the venue during the event for any reason, a refund will not be offered.
If you're experiencing any issues during the event, please let our front-of-house staff know right away. Unfortunately, we can’t offer a refund after the event if the issue wasn't raised while the event was happening.
The Palais Theatre is renowned for its incredible acoustics. If you experience any sound issues, they are typically due to the mix created by the sound engineer, who is chosen by the touring artist.
For all refund and exchange requests, please submit your request via Ticketmaster’s Customer Support Form for review.
Contact Ticketmaster as soon as you notice the tickets are missing and they will explain the procedures for the event you are attending!
Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, band or venue. Should this occur, Ticketmaster will attempt to contact you to inform you of refund or exchange procedures for that event.
When booking at an outlet please provide phone or email contact details so we can contact you in the event of a cancellation/postponement.
Palais Theatre is a member of Live Performance Australia, and abides by the Ticketing Code of Practice.

You'll find either the doors open time or the show start time listed on your ticket. As a guide, shows typically begin around one hour after doors open.
Final show times will be added to the event page as soon as they're confirmed with the event organiser.
If you’re the original ticket purchaser, you’ll also receive an email from Ticketmaster before the event with all the key details — including final show times. We recommend checking the event page closer to the date for any last-minute updates.
Please try to arrive on time — some shows may have a lock-out once the performance starts. If that’s the case, latecomers will be admitted during an appropriate break in the show.
We do our best to keep all event information up to date, but sometimes things change. The Palais Theatre can’t take responsibility for any event changes, cancellations, or postponements — but we’ll always aim to keep you informed.
Palais Theatre is an all-ages venue, so everyone is welcome!
If a particular event isn’t suitable for under 18s, the artist, promoter, or manager will make sure that’s clearly noted on the event info. We recommend checking the Ticketmaster page when buying tickets, or the event page on our website for any age restrictions.
For safety and comfort, we prefer that children under 14 are accompanied by a responsible adult.
If it’s your child’s first concert, we totally understand it can be a big moment! Our friendly staff are here to help – feel free to chat with someone on the night, and they can connect you with our Manager on Duty if you have any questions or concerns. And if your child needs help during the event, they can always speak to one of our ushers.
Planning a drop-off or pick-up? You’ll find event times on our website – just check again on the day, as times can sometimes change. Please note, all timings are approximate and may be adjusted by the artist.
All guests over 2 years old will need a ticket to attend events at Palais Theatre, unless stated otherwise for a specific show.
Babies under 2 years are welcome without a ticket, as long as they’re seated on an adult’s lap and not occupying their own seat.
Age restrictions are determined according to the content of the show, so it is important that you check the information on the event page when purchasing a ticket to attend a show.
Please note that prams aren’t allowed inside the venue, and we don’t have cloaking facilities available. We kindly ask that you leave prams in your car or another safe location before entering.
To help protect little ears, it’s a condition of entry that babies under 18 months wear ear protection when attending adult concerts or events (this doesn’t apply to children’s shows). We recommend bringing your own ear protection for your child — comfort and safety first!
There are many parking options just a short stroll from the Palais Theatre, however please allow enough time to find parking!
