The new, user-friendly Palais Theare website will be launching at the end of March 2017. In the meantime, this temporary holding page will communicate what’s happening at the theatre, which is now taking bookings for events from the 18th May 2017.
The Palais Theatre is an iconic live performance venue with a 2,896 people capacity, making it Australia’s largest, fully seated theatre. It conducts over 100 events per year, ranging from live music, theatre, comedy, opera, ballet, film and other community events. For over 90 years, the Palais Theatre has regularly hosted top musicians and performers, including the likes of Johnnie Ray, Bob Hope, The Rolling Stones, Tom Jones, Al Green, Kenny Rogers, The Monkeys and UB 40, to name a few.
Built in 1927, the Palais Theatre is located next to Luna Park, St Kilda. The exterior and interiors were inspired by Moorish architecture and the venue is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
Phase one of the refurbishment is nearing successful completion. This phase includes the following:
Phase two will be undertaken by Live Nation Australia Venues under the guidance of well-renowned heritage architect, Michael Taylor. In this phase, we will complete the following:
Phase two is programmed to start in mid-March and be completed by early June 2017.

The Palais Theatre is now taking bookings for events from 18th May 2017. The venue is also available to hire for a variety of events, including, but not limited to, live music, family entertainment, comedy, theatre and opera production.
