LA LA LAND IN CONCERT

A One-Of-A-Kind Live Concert Experience
Full Film Screening with 80-Piece Orchestra & Jazz Ensemble

Experience the ground-breaking and original musical film LA LA LAND like never before - LIVE with an 80-piece orchestra and jazz ensemble.

The Philharmonia Australia Orchestra will be among the world’s first orchestras to perform the soundtrack from LA LA LAND live alongside a full screening of the critically acclaimed film – on stage at the newly renovated Palais Theatre in St Kilda on Saturday, December 16.

An 80-piece orchestra and band will perform composer Justin Hurwitz’s Oscar®-winning score live – from the toe-tapping opener Another Day of Sun to the delightful Planetarium instrumental and the recurring and Academy Award®-winning City of Stars.

The global box office phenomenon LA LA LAND has grossed more than $430 million worldwide and won six Academy Awards® including Best Director Damien Chazelle and Best Actress Emma Stone.  She stars alongside Ryan Gosling (Academy Award® nominee for Best Actor) and John Legend, whose recorded vocal performance will be featured in this event. LA LA LAND tells the story of Mia (Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.

LA LA LAND in Concert premiered on May 26 and 27 at Los Angeles' iconic Hollywood Bowl to rave reviews before making its way around the world, ending the year in Australia.
